EMTT Magnetic Treatment

EMTT Magnetic Treatment for Foot and Ankle Conditions

emtt magnetic treatmentExtracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy, commonly called EMTT Magnetic Treatment, is a non-invasive therapy that uses high-intensity electromagnetic pulses to target areas affected by pain and musculoskeletal dysfunction. Unlike traditional hands-on treatments, EMTT delivers magnetic energy without requiring direct contact with the skin. This therapy is being studied for conditions involving joints, tendons, and other musculoskeletal tissues. Recent research has found potential benefits for reducing pain and improving physical function for several foot and ankle conditions.

In podiatry, EMTT may be considered as part of a comprehensive treatment plan for certain foot and ankle problems. It has been investigated for conditions such as midfoot osteoarthritis, chronic musculoskeletal pain, tendon-related problems, and selected foot and ankle conditions. A recent pilot study involving patients with midfoot osteoarthritis found improvements in reported pain following a series of EMTT treatments.

EMTT is generally performed while the patient remains fully clothed, with the treatment applicator positioned over the targeted area. Treatment is individualized according to the condition being addressed, symptoms, and overall treatment goals. EMTT may be used in conjunction with other podiatric treatments when clinically appropriate.
